Composition and timing are good friends. When you find a good spot it is useful to camp there and wait for something to come into the frame. The following photo was made in a backyard of a group of small skyscrapers. Each building was painted in a different color and the backyard was mostly grey with some trees in the middle. I stopped by an interesting scene full of diagonals, shapes and an open frame that called for a moving subject walking into it. The walking subject adds more life to the photo. The lines are leading the viewers eyes into the hole in the upper middle where the movement is taking place. The different shades of grey and the green and blue tones in the fore- and background creating an artificial and futuristic look. Perfect for an urban street photo. I will print this one and hang it on a wall at home. Cheers, Nils

What would photography without all the individuals who curate, publish and exhibit images around the world. Look at the many collectives and communities that have formed inside and outside the web. There was always an idea to do a certain thing to exchanges views, spread news, create collections or just to push things further. You will always find people who are not only interested in their own creations, who want to go beyond. They gather other interested people and start something to support what they are enthusiastic about. finding the right way... We need those people because they build up structures and places we can use to connect, share and exhibit etc. So if you are feeling you should start something then go on with it. I recently started a magazine via blurb and the good thing is that blurb is a platform that prints each book or magazine after someone ordered it. This is the best thing ever happened to me and the rest of whole world of arts. My father in law owns a part of a little publishing company that sells mostly scientific books. He also publishes his own books about local history in his hometown. He always need to pay a certain amount of money in advance for at least three hundred copies and has the risk of being unsuccessful wich means to loose nearly all the money he invested into the project and sitting on a pile of unsold books. print for the most important person: you!
